The brief
A self-set brief: a rugged portable speaker a small brand could realistically tool up. That means two moulded housings, no undercuts anywhere, soft overmoulded caps to survive being dropped, and a shape that still looks designed rather than engineered.
Designing around the mould, not after it
The widest cross-section of the body sits exactly on the parting plane, so the mould opens cleanly in two directions and the split line lands where the eye expects a seam. Every wall tapers 1.5° away from that plane, the two housings meet on a deliberate 0.2 mm shut line, and the soft end caps wrap the seam where hands and drops land.

Acoustics and the front face
Two 52 mm drivers sit on an internal baffle, with a passive radiator at the back and a bass port through the rear housing. The front face is perforated with 103 holes of 3.6 mm on a staggered 6 mm pitch: open enough for the drivers, tight enough to read as one surface from a metre away.

What a manufacturer receives
